Complainant states she heard a noise in her basement and her dog was barking. She found her basement window broken and messages on her cellphone from her husband (who is separated from compl) threatening to kill her. Nothing taken and no arrest.

Complainant states that as she was leaving her house, she observed three black males (age unknown, wearing dark clothing) ransacking her car. Males fled in unknown direction and nothing was taken.

Complainant states that between 8AM and 5:15PM, unknown person(s) gained access by breaking window at rear of home. Laptop in her living room was stolen. Complainant has home security service but failed to activate alarm before leaving the home. No security cameras. Latent prints discovered – negative results. Value: $500

Construction site supervisor noticed gate on Ridge Avenue had been cut and opened. While going through the site with complainant, supervisor noticed that compl’s laser level and cement tamper were missing from a large hole where foundation was being built. Also noticed inside the structure that a large toolbox had been broken into and power guns stolen. Detectives checking with East River Bank to determine if any security cameras were facing the construction site. Value: $8900

3822 Ridge Avenue (Laurel Hill Cemetery)

Two bronze doors weighing approx 600-800 pounds (similar to those in the photo below) were stolen from the Kelly-Hastings mausoleum between the hours of 4PM and 9AM. Doors were removed with unknown object. Value: $25,000.

Complainant states that at 10AM, unknown person(s) removed three 10” brown copper downspouts from his house, taking two from the front of the house and one from the side. Value: $300

Complainant states that between 9AM and 12PM unknown person(s) removed three copper downspouts from his house, taking only one and leaving the other two damaged on the ground. Value: $200

Fatal accident
Schuylkill River Trail (at N. Ferry Road)

VW sedan ran off the roadway at Kelly Drive and ended up upside down in the river in about six feet of water. Police recovered the body of a 25-year-old man from the car.
Carolyn Card Sutton, of Penn Street, was on the scene at about 4AM with her camera:
“The car went airborne into the river. Rescue was there in a minute, but he was submerged; don’t know whether he had some medical event or he drowned.”
Sutton also noted that the car had severely damaged the smallmouth bass sign along the river wall.

Offender (36-40 year old black male) placed at Gaudenzia house by court order, became aggressive with staff. Attacked one staff member with broom handle, then attacked complainant, punching him in the back of the head numerous times.

Police responded to burglary alarm. Discovered rear door forced open and unknown number of prescriptions taken. Complainant witnessed two offenders on videotape (unknown ages. Both wore gloves and dark clothing with hoods. Offenders drove dark colored vehicle). Value of stolen items: $5,000

Complainant states a delivered package was stolen off of his front steps. Contents of the package were unknown at time of report due to high volume of wedding gifts delivered recently. Witness (neighbor) observed offenders (two black males, approx. 14 years old with bookbags) take package. Value: $100
