🎙️ IN A WORD: DETERMINED🎙️
Andre: Daija, I’m happy to have you on Spotlight Sessions. This is actually my first interview with someone I’ve never met before. I randomly came across you via my explore page which led me to checking out your page and platform. From there I was interested in learning more about you and your journey, from there it felt like everything aligned. I’m tapped in with a few people at Power 99 —like Frankie Darcell—so seeing you doing your thing felt familiar already.
Daija Me: Thank you for reaching out! I’m happy to be here and I’m glad the algorithm was working in my favor that day. We’re definitely pushing out content, so it’s cool to see it’s being seen.
A: So I’m curious about your journey. What got you into media and radio? Was this something you’d always dreamed about?
D: You know what’s funny? Growing up, I wanted to be as big as Beyoncé. I was convinced I’d be famous and on tour by senior year of high school. I’m talking about real-life disappointment when that didn’t happen. But at the same time, I’d started a blog in my junior year, and I wanted to turn that into a talk show. I had two dreams: be Beyoncé or be Wendy Williams. One of them had to hit, right?
A: That’s wild—two completely different icons, but both legendary!
D: Right?! Fast forward to college, I’m at community college, and I’m sitting in the cafeteria alone. Out of nowhere, these two guys walk up to me like, “Hey, you wanna join our radio station, Montco Radio?” They handed me the paperwork and told me I’d have my own show. I called it The Imperfect Talk Show, after my blog, and it all clicked from there.
I transferred to Temple and brought the show with me, and then I won an award from the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System for my radio show — that’s a national competition with thousands of entries, I was really honored. Around that same time, after applying to like 30 jobs at iHeartRadio, I finally landed a role there in November of 2019.
A: That’s crazy. I’m big on manifestation, so when I heard you wrote your goal down and put it in your Bible, I had to ask—do you consider yourself religious?
D: Not religious, but definitely spiritual. I’m all about keeping that connection with God. And yeah, I’m still that person who’s writing down goals and putting them in the Bible. There’s power in writing things down.
A: Absolutely. I’m with you on that. So, aside from work, tell me something about you people don’t usually see. Who’s Daija the person?
D: My mom (author & motivational speaker Artina Moore) is my foundation. I’m always on the floor of her room, like, “Girl, I need to talk to you!” She’s the one who keeps me balanced. Life’s overwhelming sometimes, but she’s my go-to person. I’d say that’s the side people don’t see—me relying on family to stay grounded.
Andre: That’s powerful. I’ve been watching your content, and one thing that stands out is your energy. you have a fun spirit, I notice how you’re always dancing and having fun, but still handling business. It’s dope.
D: Ha! Two left feet and all, I’m still dancing. It’s all love, though. I’m trying to balance being intentional with my content and still being myself. I’m not one of those influencers who’s gonna put every little thought on social media. But I’m happy you’re seeing the real me come through.
A: Mission accomplished. And I’m impressed with your marketing business. It’s only been two years, but you’re out here helping companies build brands. What’s the story behind that move?

Daija Me: It’s wild how it happened. At Power 99, I’m already running social media, and people started asking me for help with their businesses. I’m like, “Wait, this could be a whole agency!” So I launched The Moore Marketing Agency on Christmas Eve, and now I’m working with clients from corporations to local businesses. I’m especially drawn to professionals who wear a lot of hats—lawyers, doctors, real estate agents—because I can relate to them on that grind.
Andre: You’re on the radio, running a company, doing paid brand deals—where’s all this energy coming from?
Daija Me: I’m still figuring it out! It’s that constant hunger to do more. But I’ve been learning to slow down and appreciate my wins. Sometimes you’re living the dream you prayed for and don’t even realize it. I’m trying to be more present for my family and friends. I’ve learned to stop chasing things that’ll always be there, like goals. But your people? They’re not always going to be there. I’m trying to keep that perspective in mind every day.
Andre: That’s real. I tell the kids I mentor that too—success isn’t just the trophies. It’s about the connections and support system you build along the way.
Daija Me: Exactly. Success isn’t just about what you’re chasing—it’s about what you’re nurturing.
