Cheers for neighbors & business owners keeping East Falls beautiful!
East Falls Forward led an enthusiastic team of neighbors & business owners raking debris & picking up littler along Ridge Avenue from Inn Yard Park to In Riva. “We couldn’t ask for better weather!” Felicite Moorman exclaimed, working her shovel down the sidewalk outside the Mason’s Building (which received its historic designation this May).
Representatives from the Streets Department and the PA Environmental Council lent a hand, and also tagged storm drain markers to alert people that anything that passes down these inlets will go directly to our river. Fun fact: “The animals you see on the markers are actually living in the Schuylkill, “ Kadafi El-Kardah told us, “There’s fish, turtles and even otters!”
EFDC’s Kathleen Hogan pitched in, too, as well as Jim Williamson from Slices Pizza. Big props to the team for sprucing up our Riverfront Business District while EFCC’s team tackled the Mifflin Arboreatum.
