Eagles, ‘Nova, and now this. Led by Kendall Jackson, John Gus McNicholas, and Kingston Roundtree, McDevitt’s youth basketball team took home the title. Kinda getting used to champions around here.
The McDevitt Rec Youth team won the 14-team Interboro Spring Basketball Tournament in March by defeating Malvern in the semifinals and Ridley in the finals.
The team had strong play from all their players. Kendall Jackson was named Tournament MVP while John Gus McNicholas and Kingston Roundtree were named to the All-Tournament team. Chris Spondberg and “Nasty” Nate Lewis rounded out the starting lineup, with very strong play by all five starters. Lameer Calloway, Jamal Goodson, and Jack Guidalian were big contributors off the bench.
Way to go McDevitt! Maybe the Sixers will pick up where you left off.
