Let Local Live videos spotlight your biz, group or cause.
During these months of COVID lockdowns, video conferencing has saved jobs and relationships. It’s helped us hang out remotely with friends and family, and now a new ZOOM video series turns its camera on the community to showcase shops, restaurants, freelancers, clubs, organizations – anyone who could use some Local love.
Like Slices Pizza on Ridge Avenue. In our first video, we talked with Jim Williamson at home in his kitchen about how he & his crew have been managing. For NouVaux Market’s piece, Ed Lampe showed off new merchandise with the store’s buyer. Chrissy Evans of Aaliyah’s Beautique promoted a Mother’s Day raffle in her video. Attic Brewery’s crew demonstrated canning beer in theirs.
Between Facebook and Youtube, each video’s garnered thousands of views so far, plus lots of likes, shares and click-throughs. They’ll also be featured in a new Local Live tab from our home page, where we’ll post all our videos along with transcripts you can search for quotes, links and information. Every month, we print these stories in The Local paper where they can reach even more readers, including those who aren’t online.
We’re loving this one-on-one format, too. Local founder/editor Steve Fillmore makes a genuine and engaging host — kinda like Rick Steves, but instead of traveling the globe he’s exploring NW Philly. It’s fun to see familiar faces and locations, and to “eavesdrop” on friendly conversations.
We hope these home spun videos provide a personal way to keep us connected and focused on the positive: online shopping opportunities, safe pickup/delivery, cool products, offers and promotions. Plus community fundraisers, virtual classes, happy hours and workshops… East Falls & Germantown may be sheltering, but we’re far from shut down.
No budget, No problem

We’ll send you more details and schedule you in when you’re ready. There is no cost for these profiles, but you do need ZOOM (which is free).
Don’t be shy! Storytelling is a primal way humans bond, relate and evolve. Local Live videos can be a powerful tool to connect us in these socially distant times. Our slate is filling up fast, please reach out soon for maximum options and availability.
