10-24-15 UPDATE: Thanks everyone for coming out for a fantastic day on the river. Lots of pics in our recap, CLICK HERE for the scoop on Autumn Fall Fest 2015.
Dogs in funny outfits & varying degrees of humiliation! Prizes, local media coverage, bragging rights! Pet Street & Northwest Philly Pack Walk host this year’s pup parade & costume contest at Fall Fest, Inn Yard Park.
DETAILS: The costume contest is scheduled to start at about 12:30. Please arrive at 12:15 so we can strut around the park before the awards are announced. Meeting place is just behind the East Falls Fire Station (Kelly Drive and Midvale Avenue)
Sorry, but if you can look me in the eye and tell me dogs in costumes don’t make you laugh, you’re dead inside. Halloween may not be your bag, but a parade of dressed-up dogs is hilarious any time of year, and a welcome addition to Fall Fest this October 24th at Inn Yard Park off Kelly Drive near Midvale.
Our own Northwest Philly Pack Walkers will be out in full-force to lead a circle around the festival grounds, followed by judging & prizes — with special goodies and treats for all. We’ll be posting photos & video afterwards for everyone to enjoy.
East Falls is full of artistic types with dogs — past Halloween contest events have hosted some truly fantastic costumes. Buzz has been growing at Pet Street already, as neighborhood dog lovers get ready for the biggest Halloween Pack Parade, yet: open to all, not just locals.
Prizes at stake as yet to be determined, but Pet Street owner Steve Carvelli tells us “probably gift certificates for treats or grooming.” (ed Note: oh yeah, Pet Street just hired a groomer.)
Fall Fest is more than just dog stuff, by the way, it’s an all-day event with food trucks, live entertainment, BEER (!), and all kinds of free kids activities like pumpkin painting, apple pressing, fire truck ladder rides, and more.
Simply put, this year’s Fall Fest provides the best opportunity we’ll have all year to tire out the entire family in one place — Fido included. Hope to see you there!
And don’t forget, Fall Fest is actually a whole week of activities, including talks & tours of all kinds like Joe Minardi’s East Falls “Photo Tour” on Sunday where we tag along with Joe as he points out all the special details that make our neighborhood so unique (as well as the history behind them).

See you there!
