  1. Good writeup!

Has the survey been posted already? I’m still unable to access the forum on East Falls Forward’s website. Nothing has been posted to the EFF Google Group yet.

    • Hey Morgan: Last post from Tiffany was July 2 on Google Groups (most recent post was your question about progress on July 5). Haven’t heard anything since. I know Tiffany was out of town for the holiday so I imagine we’ll hear more soon. I think you have it right that the survey itself isn’t going to motivate people much. There needs to be some sort of marketing effort around it. A social event (tour, hike, beer and food trucks in a park, kid-related event, etc.) There have been plenty of charrettes in this town but very few have had a social component to them (that I’m aware of–glad to be proven wrong on this). If I were one of the folks who’d participated in charrettes before, I’d be skeptical that yet another poll of the residents would amount to much. In the case of EFF, an event would also allow members (and non-members) to get to know each other and celebrate the new RCO in town.

    • FWIW, I can’t get into the forum from the website, either. I have to access from google.groups directly. We need a better platform but as you know there are quite a few out there. Hopefully we’ll have something soon, or at least by the first meeting. Please let us know if you have any ideas for the new EastFallsForum.com, or if you can help us with testing/research. Thanks!

  2. A vBulletin cloud account is probably the best way to go. It’s $20/mo for 25GB or $40/mo for 75GB. 25GB is probably enough for now, I guess. I’ll throw some money in.

Do you own the eastfallsforum.com domain name?

  3. Finally, some transparency. Thanks for breaking it all down for us. Now maybe we can get something done in this town. So much potential. I, for one, have always wanted to be more engaged in the neighborhood stuff but the unclear political boundaries have always been a deterrent. It might be some work to get people back on board as, like me, a lot of people have tuned out due to the sketchy or conflicting goals, tall efforts yielding small production value and selfish agendas. There’s no reason that East Falls cannot have all the great things other neighborhoods have had no trouble attaining, peacefully.
