It’s another year of TMI for NW Philly neighbors, pulled from social bubbles and hidey holes for the embetterment of our lives. Or something.

HOROSCOPE FOR CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 20)
Capricorns are known for their hard-working dispositions and the way they can bum out any party just by stepping into the room. Capricorn is a true and loyal friend, except where business is concerned in which case they will cut a bitch for playing games. Of all the signs of the zodiac, Capricorn looks most foolish when trying to pull off trendy hats and eyewear. In matters of love, Capricorns will never lie (although you may wish they did so at least you’d have something interesting to talk about). If you are a Capricorn, try being someone else for awhile, maybe. @Empress2016

Forgive me, Heidi, but I don’t speak German so those “sweet nothings” you’re whispering sound like grunting and maybe hawking up a loogie. If you’re trying to turn me on, try French or Italian. Or maybe just talk dirty in English? ~ Kevin #justsayin

December 23: Anyone with camera footage of someone throwing a rock at a vehicle’s windshield last night? Calumet street, near the library. To the person who did it – your vandalism may have just robbed an elderly mother at end-stage cancer of the chance to spend one last holiday with her family. Way to go, you. ~D.B via Nextdoor

Sandals in Snow Flurries: You continue to captivate me, you kitten-heeled vixen. Dabbing the frozen pavement so carefully with your perfectly pedicured piggies, so bravely facing the elements, so that you may style yourself at whim — weather be damned. How lovely the pallor of your skin, blue-gray with possible frostbite. Now here’s a woman who COMMITS to her outfit! A true inspiration. My offer of a platonic foot rub still stands, hope you’ll take me up on it soon. ~Mike Pence on Germantown Ave.

Betty White Didn’t Die! No, no, no. She grabbed 2021 by the throat, and whispered in its ear, “I’m taking you with me, you son of a bitch!” and then she threw them both into the fires of Mordor to save us all. That’s my fucking story and I’m sticking to it. It is cannon. Deal with it. #Rose4Ever

Hi, Germantown, I’m scared every night I leave my business because it’s completely pitch black on the sidewalks! The streetlights are all burned out, me and the other neighbors have been calling 311 for 3+ months now but no luck. I think maybe we made too much a fuss, and made somebody mad. – CJ

Just watched someone fly down Abbotsford along Fernhill Park at least 50 mph, passing numerous other vehicles in a non-passing zone. Turned the corner onto Clapier, there’s another car doing 50 mph, blowing stop signs. This poor woman’s walking her dog, she literally had to jump out of the way! WTH? I just moved here, now I’m seeing this shit all the time. Is this normal? Someone dug up the speedbumps on Abbotsford, y’all are crazy. ~ Eric

Who’s your Missed Connection? Mine is my ex. Over time, I remember more the good than the bad. She never told me why she didn’t want me anymore, but I think I know. Could we have tried harder? To Everyone Complaining About the Trash: You now how COVID cases are rising? That’s affecting sanitation workers, too, as well as their families. One sick crew member can mean the rest of the crew also has to isolate. The city can only shuffle crews around so fast. We need to be patient – again. We’ve been through this before. We probably will yet again. Learn to cope. ~ T.B.

What Happened to Rosa? I used to go to an open mic in Germantown, probably around 2013. There was a singer named Rosa, she’d just done a special for NPR…? There was also a guy who’d be speaking in sign language, just walking around the place. Wired Beans, on Chelten. Great ambiance, lots of cool people and a chill vibe. Where is everyone these days? Why’s everything gotta be so weird now? ~ Sharif

Rainy December Uber Ride Back from Center City (to E. Germantown): You were telling me about your situation, and I was sharing mine. We’re both on the outside of the hearts we held so closely. Maybe I’m wrong but I feel we were meant to meet that night, our connection was so strong and promising. I’d have asked for your number, but Uber made me sign an agreement to stop doing that. So instead, I told you that angels are out here in the form of each other as you got out of the car. Please find me! ~ Ari in the Avalanche

Scam Alert! Just wanted to warn everyone to beware there are a lot of scammers on social media hooking people for bogus duct cleaning services. Their ads are very convincing but they will rip you off. You should only need your ducts cleaned out every 2 – 3 years, it should cost around $500 (check for NADCA-certification).

Please be on the lookout my iPhone. I left it on the roof of my car the other night, heading down the 3400 block of Coulter, then onto Warden and then Midvale. At some point the phone fell off the car and appears to have been picked up by someone on a bike (12mph) who dropped it or threw it away behind the Park Deli at Chelten & Pulaski where it sat overnight, then took the J bus… where? It shut off after just a few blocks, it’s driving me crazy wondering what happened. I don’t need the phone back at this point, I just want to know. ~Sara
